Tutorials
We will have computer lab sessions and tutorial problem sessions periodically, as the need arises. Question sheets, datasets and solutions will be posted periodically when needed.

Old computer lab exercises -
Computer Lab Exercise #1 - Friday, January 16, 2004
Computer Lab Exercise #2 - March 31, 2004
This dataset contains time traces for a manipulated variable u and an output variable y. The MV is the slice lip opening on a paper machine headbox. Adjusting the opening adjusts the amount of paper stock laid down on the wire (a screen that forms the paper sheet). The output is the paper basis weight, measured by a sensor further down in the process.
The goal is to estimate a process plus disturbance model to describe the dynamics of this system.
