Announcements (Ignore: will be updated from 2009)
Product based project: Two parts to the completion of the assignment:
Part 1 - Provide a 3 page (maximum) response by email to the assignment task (no BS, no overview, no background, limited graphics - just respond to the assignment questions). The grading will be based on the extent to which you did your research, and the depth of your understanding around the product/process. The file that you submit should be labelled as first.lastname.doc.
Part 2 - I will ask you to explain what you have learned to me and to the rest of the class. You need to do this on a bristle board type poster... you can use images, text, or whatever. Be sure to include your name and title of the project on the board, and be ready to tell other students and myself in a few minutes what you learned, so that we can learn from you. The grading will be based on the extent to which you have been informative, creative in the design of your poster and ability to clearly explain what you have learned.
In answer to the question that always comes up... yes, you will be responsible for this material in the exam, so pay attention to what you have learned, and to what other students are teaching you about their products/processes.
CALCULATOR FOR FINAL EXAM
Instructors are required to specify the type of calculator allowed in applied science final exams. I have specified calculators with gold? (applied science) sticker. If you need a sticker, you can obtain this in the faculty of applied science office.
