GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR APPLICATIONS |
UNIVERSITY PROGRAMS AND RESEARCH TOPICS:
1. You will need to list universities that you are interested in attending for graduate studies for both NSERC and OGS applications. Go to the University's webpage and review their available programs.
2. You should have a clear idea of the research area you are interested in pursuing. Go to http://chemeng.queensu.ca/graduate/Graduate-Areas-Research.php and read up on the areas of research we offer. If one interests you, click on professors associated with that research and review some of their publications. You can repeat this at other university websites to review more research areas in chemical engineering.
3. Contact two professors who will agree to give you a reference. You will need their name and email address to supply to the application website for NSERC. You are encouraged to ask professors with whom you have worked in some capacity, not just a professor who taught a course you took.
4. Order your transcripts NOW!
5. Contact Barb Lawson, the Graduate Assistant in Chemical Engineering if you have questions about the application process.
