Research Interests

  • Dryforming Technology
  • Turbulent Mixing
  • Process Technology in Steel Reheat Furnaces

Professor Grandmaison is conducting research in the area of turbulent mixing of gaseous systems, dry forming technology and steel reheat process systems. Current projects deal with the monitoring of the concentration field and velocity fields of interacting jet flows with laser light-scatter and laser doppler techniques. The problem of scale formation in steel reheat furnaces is a project of current interest. The field of dryforming technology involves studies of the flow of dry wood pulp fibre in gaseous systems. The objectives of this work are to produce a web of paper from wood pulp in an air medium rather than by conventional wet forming techniques.
