Chemeng Club

Letter from the President

The ChemEng club has a long standing tradition of providing students in the department access to various social, educational, and career based initiatives. The club currently runs with an executive of 18 people with tasks ranging from treasurer to athletics representative. These fine people are dedicated to their program and excited to volunteer their time for student based initiatives. Organizers plan and execute on social events such as the welcome back BBQ in September which consistently draws around 200 people. Speaker Series (or past known as Chem Pals) has a track record of bringing in high profile names in industry, as well as recent grads to relay the perspective of a new grad in the workforce. Further, in the inaugural year of the oil and gas industry more than 100 students have committed their time to learn about the industry. The department has one of the most vast selection of intramural sports teams and these are all organized and maintained by the club. The club does not stop there! If you find yourself reading Perry's Chemical Engineering Handbook in the cluster late at night, it is likely that you picked the book up from the cluster library - organized and maintained by the ChemEng club. If you have used a free stapler, dry erase marker, paper clip, or other fastening device in the cluster, those have all be purchased and maintained by the ChemEng club. The ChemEng club is a vital part of making what is truly a unique "ChemEng" experience. For more information see one of the club executive - they're always in the cluster!
